Forsberg Wins Formula D Opener
4/14/2008Chris Forsberg wasted no time staking his claim in the race for the Formula Drift championship, taking a victory in the opening round of the 2008 season. The competition was held April 12 in Long Beach, California.
Forsberg was “flawless in all four rounds…and in the final” according to thedriftzone.com. The 2007 Driver of the Year and winner of the Tires.com Triple Crown, Forsberg repeatedly outmaneuvered his opponents in the hairpin 11th turn.
“It was an awesome weekend for the first round of 2008,” said Forsberg. “We had multiple Maxxis drivers in the tandem round. The Maxxis tires performed flawlessly. The tires are lasting so long that no matter how hot we got them, they just kept performing better. We did all the warm-ups and five rounds on one set of MA-Z1 Drifts.”
