Kabush Sets Record at Test of Metal

Maxxis-Rocky Mountain’s Geoff Kabush bested more than 1000 other riders to set a course record at the Test of Metal, held June 19 in Squamish, BC, Canada.

Kabush rode prototype Maxxis Ikon tires, scheduled for release at this year’s Interbike Trade Expo. He covered the 67-kilometer course in 2:29:55 hours, beating the previous record by 45 seconds. He held a two-minute lead over the next rider for most of the race – no small feat on a course covered in roots and featuring 4000 feet of climbing. “If you’re from BC, the Test is a big deal,” said the Canadian native. “I’m really happy to win here today. The crowd was phenomenal and the race course was super-fun. My bike worked perfectly. It was the perfect day, really.” Kabush’s teammate Marty Lasarski also took a spot on the podium with a third place finish.
