Maxxis Riders Shine at GNCC John Penton Motorcycle Race
6/08/2010
With an XC2 Pro Lites win for Jesse Robinson and a top-five finish for Pro Chris Bach, Maxxis’ sponsored riders excelled at the GNCC John Penton motorcycle race, held June 6 in Millfield, Ohio.
Robinson battled his way through a sodden course to take his victory, counting on his Maxxis tires the whole way. “I really just plugged along all day,” he said. “My tires worked great. The Maxxcross SM front cleaned out the real thick mud, and the Maxxcross SI rear hooked up in all the polished, slick spots and in the deep mud.” Robinson was joined on the podium by Fred Andrews Racing’s Jason Thomas, who took third place. Thomas is in second place overall for XC2, with Robinson in third place.
Chris Bach took fifth place in XC1 Pro and also holds fifth place in the points standings. Maria Forsberg of RPM Racing won the Women’s race, with fellow Maxxis rider Mandi Mastin in third. Forsberg leads the Women’s class in points, followed by Mastin in second place.
Maxxis congratulates Jesse Robinson and Maria Forsberg and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
