Maxxis Wins Big at GNCC Mountain Ridge
5/27/2010
Maxxis reigned at Round 7 of the GNCC Mountain Ridge race, with the top two XC1 Pro spots taken by riders on Razrs. With a fifth win for the season, Chris Borich solidified his hold on the overall points lead. Taylor Kiser took second place, while Donald Ockerman claimed fifth. The race was held May 22-23 in Somerset, Pennsylvania.
Pounding rain during the event didn’t deter Borich, who traded the lead with four other riders for the first half of the race. "Man, it was sloppy out there,” Borich told Maxxis. “There was a lot of back and forth, but my tires hooked up great, and I managed to hang on for the win.”
Maxxis’ riders took every spot on the ATV XC2 class podium, with a victory for Walker Fowler, second place for Gabe Phillips and third place for Mark Notman. A rider on Razrs also won the 90 Modified (12-15) Youth race, with a sixth win for Levi Coen.
Jason Thomas took his second XC2 motorcycle win of the season, with fellow Maxxis rider Jesse Robinson joining him on the podium in third place. Thomas won by more than two minutes, after gaining the lead early in the race.
Maxxis congratulates Chris Borich, Walker Fowler and Jason Thomas, and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
