Naughton Wins LOORS Rounds 3 and 4
5/08/2009With wins in the third and fourth rounds, Robert Naughton reigns undefeated over the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Naughton won the Unlimited Lite class in both races, held May 2-3 in Surprise, Arizona.
Naughton, who overcame a broken foot to win the opening rounds of the series, gave a steady performance in Round 3, advancing his position throughout the race to cross the finish line in first place. He waged a fierce battle during the early laps of Round 4, eventually working his way to second place. An inside-outside pass on another driver gave him the lead, which he held throughout the remainder of the race.
“At least I was able to race on the right foot this time, but I’m still not able to walk on it,” said Naughton, who had used his left foot to compete in Rounds 1 and 2. “This is my 16th career win in short course off-road racing, all on Maxxis Bighorn tires.”
The next races in the LOORS series are scheduled for June 27-28. Maxxis congratulates Robert Naughton for his victory and for continuing to prove that Maxxis is the brand of champions.
