Spinner 3rd at AST Dew Tour Opener
6/30/2008Maxxis’ sponsored rider Mike Spinner claimed a place on the podium at the first stop on the 2008 AST Dew Tour. Spinner took third place in BMX Park at the Panasonic Open, held June 21-22 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Spinner wowed fans with a run that included two triple tailwhips and a 1080, according to AST.com. The good news doesn’t stop with the Dew Tour for Spinner: The New York native is also getting his share of attention from the media. He recently filmed a segment for the USA Network’s Character Road Trip, and received local TV coverage in Baltimore during the Dew Tour event.
Other Maxxis riders also turned in outstanding performances at the Panasonic Open. Austin Coleman, who nabbed second place in the prelims, took fifth in BMX Vert with “his own 1080 and two knockout triple tailwhips, one over a transfer and one on the big quarter” according to AST.com. In a strong start to the season, Chris Gerber qualified sixth and posted an eighth place finish in BMX Dirt.
