Team Babbitt’s Sweeps 1st Two Rounds of AMA Arenacross

1/11/2010

Team Babbitt’s is wasting no time dominating the podium in 2010: Riders from the Maxxis-sponsored crew won the first two rounds of the AMA Arenacross series. The races were held January 8-10 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Chad Johnson rode Maxxcross ITs to victory in Round 1. Johnson ended the first lap in seventh place, but later battled his way to the front for the win. Teammate Tyler Bowers, also riding ITs, took fourth place in the main event.

Bowers began Round 2 in second place, behind teammate Josh Demuth, who grabbed the holeshot on his Maxxcross SX tires. Bowers gained the lead at the halfway point for a second straight Babbitt’s victory. Johnson also did well, taking fifth place.

With their winning performance, the three riders have rocketed to the top of the series’ overall standings. Bowers holds the lead, with Johnson a close second. Demuth is in fourth place overall.

The next AMA Arenacross races are scheduled for January 15-17 in Baltimore, Maryland. Fans can follow the team’s progress throughout the season on Maxxis.com as well as on the Babbitt’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
