Tuerck 3rd in Formula D Round 2

5/14/2008

He’s on a roll: A week after winning the NOPI Drift Spring Nationals, Ryan Tuerck took third place in Round 2 of Formula Drift. The second round of Formula Drift was held May 10 at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia. The NOPI Drift Spring Nationals were held May 3-4 in Englishtown, New Jersey.

Tuerk was glad that he could rely on his MA-Z1 Drifts in both contests. “Maxxis tires performed absolutely perfectly. They do everything you ask of them, they’re super-consistent with the temperature changes on the track, and they last forever,” he said, adding that he was thrilled to have the chance to compete in the presence of family and friends. Tuerck said that the Formula Drift podium “seems like a dream because I’ve been working for it for so long. I’m still trying to let it sink in.”

Brandon Bentley of Maxxis’ automotive department was elated. “Ryan Tuerck is an amazing driver, and when you add Maxxis Tires to a Gardella Racing-prepared Solstice, great things are bound to happen,” said Bentley. “The kid is good; I mean really good! He now sits with the biggest names in drifting in the top five in points of the Formula D series. After Tuerck’s first place finish in NOPI and a third place finish in Formula D, Maxxis would like to thank another champion for choosing Maxxis.”

Maxxis is proud to sponsor Ryan Tuerck and congratulates him on his victory.
