Win for Jonnier, Cole 2nd at World Cup DH #2

6/09/2010

Team Maxxis-Rocky Mountain’s Sabrina Jonnier has rocketed into the World Cup downhill lead with a victory at Fort William. The team’s Cameron Cole took second place in men’s downhill. World Cup DH #2 was held June 6 in Fort William, Great Britain.

"It was a long run," Jonnier told cyclingnews.com. "I hit my pedal on the top section and lost all my speed, but I knew that I could make up the difference at the bottom, so I gave it everything there. All the people cheering were amazing, and it pushed me to go harder." Jonnier rode Maxxis High Rollers for her winning run.

Cole, who trusted Maxxis Minion DHFs for the event, is in third place for the overall World Cup. Both riders came into Fort William in a string position, following excellent performances at the iXS European Downhill World Cup, where Jonnier took second place and Cole took fifth.

Maxxis congratulates Sabrina Jonnier and thanks Cameron Cole for his fine performance.
